The Brand

The term "Officially Rugged" simply put, means anything to do with fishing, hunting, trapping, camping, chain saws, camo, muddy trucks, four wheelers, or basically anything to do with the great outdoors. At Officially Rugged, our objective is to promote good, clean family fun, with the emphasis on the word family!

Our television show is quite unique in that we rarely make an attempt to teach the viewers anything about fishing or hunting. When RD started working on this show back in 2000, he made a firm decision that it would be different. He figured that the other shows were already teaching the audience how to do this or how to do that. Officially Rugged is nothing more than simple, down-to-earth family entertainment. In fact, it's actually not a fishing or hunting show. Rather, it's a comedy show that has fishing and hunting in it...

Host, RD, "The Rugged Dude" really is an old fashioned kind of guy. His house looks something like the one Daniel Boone once lived in back in the day. The message he likes to convey to his fans, is also sort of old fashioned in nature. And, again, that message is one of family. He believes there is nothing more important than good family values and structure to help raise kids properly, so at least their young lives are started off in the right direction. There's no better way to achieve this, than through spending time in the great outdoors. As he often says, "It's pretty hard for kids to get into trouble on the streets if their favourite hobbies are hunting and fishing, because those things are done in the woods and on the lake!"
