Hi Larry,
Thank you SO very much for your kind and very RUGGED offer to host RD for a
show. The problem is, frankly he gets about ten or twenty offers a week!
Yikes... we'll have to clone him, but I don't think the world is ready for that
yet.
He just sent out the newsletter last night and he rarely gets a chance to
read all the return emails, but I'll make sure he sees this one. (He doesn't
have a computer at home either.) He REALLY appreciates his viewers like you
wouldn't believe. Once, he said he wished he could go to everyone's house
and say thanks!
Have a great summer in Sioux Lookout. I think RD is going there this summer
to fly in somewhere so watch for his camo truck.
Thank you,
Rugged Staff

spelling!!
Thanks again, enjoy the future shows!

Hi Rugged Staff!
Just to let you know: The hat has arrived and been exposed to ruggedness: I was wearing it while my husband renewed his hunting license and got his bear tag for the spring black bear hunt and while I watched the "blooper" show this afternoon. THAT'S a show that should come with a warning!
Cheers

Dear Officially Rugged Fan,The following reply IS from RD. We do NOT use ghost writers.Thank you,Rugged Staff_________________________________Hello Mrs. Super Rugged Wife / Violin Player....... hopefully, your violin is painted in full camo!Well, I know what ya mean, about people ripping off other people's stuff... I hate that!!! Someone stole an inflatable boat right from yard about five years ago, and I just know I'll never see that one again.I wish (and I'm NOT kidding) that I could take all my loyal and totally rugged viewers out fishing... but they'd have to clone me and I don't think that would go well... but maybe I'll see you and your hubbster out on the lake someday. Hope that little "frigger" will get caught by the cops and you'll get your motor engine thingee back for your boat! And, I DO LOVE egg rolls. Once on a show, we were hunting for geese and when we were finished... we ordered Ling Lee Chinese Food and he came out.. what a riot! For a tip, I gave two ducks and two geese!!!!!!!!!Thank you very much for watching our insane show and say hi to hubby for me.Yours Ruggedly,RD_________________________________________________________----- Original Message -----From:Sent: Sunday, March 18, 2007 1:45 PMSubject: www.officiallyrugged.com: Contact form

Without people like you, I wouldn't be on TV and don't you forget that!! I'm so happy you caught a nice bass later that day... maybe your hat did bring you some luck, but I think your skill caught that guy!We have sent your picture that you drew over to be scanned and we'll have it on the website in a few weeks, so check back later on. Hey Wrobes.... (What the hell kinda name is that anyway?) I bet there's a story to it...Yes, you're right. We get quite a few emails from the windy city and I've used a few "Chicago" rugged quizes on the show before. You're going to Rusty Myers? I'll be there in August to tape a musky show. The owner there, Steve Herbeck knows a hell of alot about fishing, so I'd give him a shout and he'll give ya the scoop on what too bring for walleyes and northerns. Some obvious stuff, I'd bring lots of bright colored jigs for sure, for the walleyes... crank baits too. Big pike in June? Probably spoons, BIG top waters... but check with Steve. Wire leaders at least 12 inches...YAY........ Ottawa Senators! They just might win the Stanley Cup this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to be a Leafs fan, but they got their asses kicked this year.Have fun at the outpost in June... bring lots of food for those 6 dudes... and some sharp fillet knives... lots of walleyes up there! Go kick 'em in the ass!Yours Ruggedly,RD___________________________________----- Original Message -----From:Sent: Monday, May 28, 2007 7:03 PMSubject: www.officiallyrugged.com: Contact form

We caught some BIG walleyes and some 2 pounder brook trout too, really nice ones!I heard the walleyes at Miminiska are unbelievable! Do you live in Fort Hope (Eabmatoong?) The biggest fish that I have caught is a 5 pound pickerel. On the weekend I watched you catch salmon on Lake Superior and I can't wait to see your show tonight! Hi my names Dani Drewek (No it ain't short for Danielle)
RD just wanted to say how much I love the show. I had met you the other day and I was just.. speechless, I can finallly tell and brag to everyone that I got to meet my Idol.
I got a little story that I am hella-proud-of that happened on May Long weekend. Me and my boyfriend were out with his friends Camping in Atikokan at Eva Lake and in the rain wind and snow we were still determined to go fishing. The first 5 minutes on the boat with my little Zebco fishing Rod, my green Jig Head and my bucket of Minners (Minnows). I caught the biggest fish I had ever caught in my life. Hell the dang thing almost ripped me outta the boat! At first I thought it was a Snag, but the best snag I ever pulled outta that water! It was a 20 lb Lake Trout!
That big ol fish had made my day, and all I could think of was I CAN'T WAIT TO TELL RD! haha
Just wanted to share that witha' yall!
P.S. I caught the biggest fish outta the hole weekend :)
-Dani
Hey Dani, (Not Danielle!)Yes, I remember you... you are the rugged teenager chick who was wearing Carhart cover-alls at DNR Sporting Goods a few weeks back... that is RUGGED!A twenty pound pound laker on a little Zebco fishing rod? WOW! And... minners? I caught a big laker on a jig and minnow once that was close to 20... but you "out-ruggeded" me on that one. Leave it to the girl to out-fish the TV guy AND - her boy friend! I know the weather was crap on our opener... you MUST be a hard-core angler!Have a great summer and thanks again for watching the show... keep the Carharts on...Yours Ruggedly,RD________________________________----- Original Message -----From:Sent: Monday, May 21, 2007 5:33 PMSubject: www.officiallyrugged.com: Contact form

I have watched your show for a while now and I really enjoy it and all of your little quips on the show.I thought I would send a quick letter to say how rugged I am.My wife and I are trying for another child. The first one is five and going fishing for the first time this year on his own.So anyhow I am watching your show and she comes out and says she is you know ready,I told her I was to busy watching your show at that special moment. Now if that isnt RUGGED then I don't know, maybe because I lve in a place called MOOSE JAW, SASKATCHEWAN,CANADA.I think it has a RUGGED name to it.Hope to hear from you soon your loyal veiwer CURTIS PRUDEN.Hey Curtis,I'm glad you have your priorities straight!! But, be warned... if it's a scrap between an angry pregnant woman and a grizzly bear sow... my money is on the angry pregnant woman! Thanks for being "that loyal of a viewer!" Hi Nas,
Tomorrow I'm leaving for ten days, and I really wanted to get back to you on
this one. It's very important.
The timing of your email is quite ironic... at this time, we're speaking to
some government safety agencies, Ministry of Transportation for one, and they
want me to be a spokesman for kid's safety, especially on ATVs.
Believe me or not, I don't think we have EVER had a complaint from a viewer
about me NOT wearing a life vest in the boat. At least, I've never heard of
it. However, over the last six months or so, I've been thinking and kind of
worrying about this issue alot, because we are now getting a HUGE number of
kids watching our show, especially down in the United States. Every public
appearance I make, whether it's a trade show, school, festival or store
appearance, there's always a pile of kids there to see me, and some are VERY
young (and impressionable.) When I started doing the show back in 2000, I
never thought I'd be a "role model" for anyone, especially kids. But, it has
happened... and it caught me off guard a bit.
So, as ironic as it sounds, the very same day you sent us this email,
(before I saw your email too) I had purchased a CO2 type inflatable
floatation vest that I will wear on EVERY show from here on in. Or, at least
I'll have a floater suit on, or an actual floatation vest that does not need
inflating.
So thanks for your input and tell everyone you know who watches my show,
that if they see me in a boat on the show without a vest on, it's an old
rerun from last season.
New shows - vest on!
Yours Ruggedly,
RD

Hi RD my name is Amber Caswell and im 16 years old and me and my dad love your show.My dad took me and my little brothers on a fishing trip to the Colorado River in Texas. I thought it would be rugged if I swallowed a minnow so I did and it went down easy later that day I caught a frog and thought it would be even more rugged if I swallowed it I washed it off and I stuck it in my mouth and it started to crawl out of my mouth so I slurped it back in and it was gone. My dad thought it rocked so I was wondering if it made me rugged or not.your biggest fanamber caswellP.S me and my dad really want to be on your show.

I was chossen for the Maine 2007 moosed hunt. This is my second time to be drawn,2003 I shoot my first big game animal what a rush. The most rugged rush of all was 2001 when my son Nicholas was drawn for the moose hunt,I was there to see him shot his first big game animal.800lb, 53 in. spread wall hanging moose. Also rugged but never topping my sons hunt my husband was drawn in 2004 and he shoot the smallest of the 3. That R.D. is what you call rugged luck. I'm going to let my father in law shot this one because he's never shot one before. The original plan was for my nephew to be my sub-permitte but he was also drawn so the only one left who hasn't got one is my father in law.
Hey Julie,So cool to see more rugged women out there! Way to go... keep on it too! I've heard Maine has some HUGE ass moose! I hope your plans for this fall work out. Dude, you are the man, because you are watching MY show!
I read your note and you want some info on maybe starting a show of your
own? Well, first, you have to be sort of nuts. Second, be prepared to starve
for a few years. Lots of Kraft Dinner and fried Spam... I had to set some
rabbit snares out behind the house. Anyway, it's a tough go, but don't let
anyone EVER tell you can't do something. If they do, tell them to kiss your
ass!
First thing you need to do is come with a concept and decide how you want
the show to look when it's done... content, style, whatever. Then, you need
to put together a pilot and then shop it around. Try to find some interest
from private investors because you'll need LOTS of cash to get going and you
WON'T get it from the bank.
Once you have money, probably at least a half million dollars, you'll need
to find air time somewhere. Contact the different channels that you watch at
home and they'll give the info on how to submit a show. Then, you need
sponsors... lots of them. Get on the phone and don't quit! You'll be a one man
show for a while, but in time, you'll get ahead and see some day light at
the end of the duck blind... good luck!!
Yours Ruggedly,
RD
